Matisse & Goldy

It’s an absolute pleasure that I bring you Matisse & Goldy’s wedding. It all went down in St Kilda, Melbourne at the Prince Hotel.

Shooting weddings I’m always fascinated by various cultures, religions, traditions etc that I encounter. This was a Jewish wedding and like many other Jewish couples I’ve photographed, Matisse & Goldy wanted to stay true to their traditions while personalising the wedding and bring it into the new school. After you have a bit of a scroll I think you’ll agree they did just that. Much the delight of my eyeballs there was lots of plants. It was modern, elegant and stylish with a twist of Mad Men vibes. But enough about how it looked. This is a story about a two people in love.

It’s not always the case, but often the couples I work with are creative themselves. Matisse is a rock star nail artist at Miss Meow Nails (seriously take a look HERE). Andrew aka Goldy is a crazy talented film director (check out his truly amazing work HERE). When the couple are creative they tend to have plenty of personality, up for anything (including laying on carpark rooftops) and trust me entirely. Regardless of if you’re a creative couple or not though, in my opinion trust is a very important ingredient to making great pictures. Matisse and Goldy gave me that by the bucketload and the end result is one of my favorite Melbourne weddings to date. I hope you enjoy checking out their awesome day…

Studio Ninja – Interview

I’ve had the pleasure of using Studio Ninja for a while now to manage the business stuff behind the scenes. It’s been an absolute game changer for me and totally streamlined things in a big way! Anyway, they asked me to do an interview with them. It’s always nice for me to get deep and meaningful and reflect on my time as a wedding photographer. It still blows my mind that I get to do what I love – capturing amazing couples love stories in Melbourne, throughout Australia and all kinds of weird and wonderful places abroad.

Head of over and take a read…
